Plötulopi is an unspun one-ply wool, traditionally used for authentic Icelandic Lopi sweaters and loved for its unique lightness. Delicate to handle as a single strand, it asks for a gentler touch, yet once knitted it becomes surprisingly strong, creating garments that feel soft, warm, and beautifully light.

Often worked with two or three strands together, Plötulopi is ideal for sweaters, winter hats, and other garments where warmth without heaviness is part of the magic. It can also be lightly twisted or combined with a strand of Einband for extra strength, and its wonderfully versatile nature makes it equally appealing for felting, hand spinning, and other creative wool work.
